I have a new name! (oh, an old unpublished clip comes here!)

Bonne soirée, dear friends!

Finnlines' cargo ship Katariina Aura La Petite Provence

Yesterday, my son and I arrived again at Mas Angelina in Provence in the evening. Behind 1800km of driving with my little red speedster, a boat trip with Finnlines, a couple of hotels and wonderful springtime landscapes while driving south.

We were able to leave Finland's winter as soon as I got my new passport, which I had to get after being excited to change my name freed up by the divorce.

That's when I changed my name, I went wild with freedom and took one more funny additional name I heard on the radio as my first name! You're kidding, how I laughed when I added a lovely French new first name to this litany! That laugh was definitely worth the €60 it cost to add the first name and change the order.

My surname is now Aura, instead of the former Breton surname I got through my ended marriage (which by the way means "small" and literally the whole of Brittany has the same names, like Virtasia in Finland).

My new last name is my father's mother's maiden name and sounds and is pronounced fluently in both Finnish and French. Lovely! Now it's time to stop meeting my adult strange last name. Katariina's two ii's will still haunt me as freaks outside my home country, but come on.

Today, a certificate of the name change in French arrived from the Population Office. It had one of my first names, Maria, spelled Marie in French! Hahhaa, I guess the French translator gets excited to interpret when my middle name is obviously French. Now I discovered, to my joy and horror, that after all, that Marie fits my name perfectly!

I guess I shouldn't change one name again...attracts, entices.

Can you become addicted to changing your name, like cosmetic surgery? Yelp :D

Happy and spring-like from the spring sun of Provence,

Katariina Aurélie Marie (Maria, really :D)
